Powerpoint makes you sleepy (?)

I read something funny this week. Scientists have found conclusive proof that Powerpoint presentations make people sleepy. They have stated that Powerpoint should be banned for it’s soporific effects.
The conclusion of their studies stated the following:
The human brain “switches off” when a person both reads and hears THE SAME WORDS at the same time.
Well, that’s not news is it?!! I disagree with their conclusion however: It’s not Powerpoint itself that causes the problem, but presenters who simply read out the contents of the slide projected on the wall word for word! Isn’t that the key observation here?
Or did I miss something?…..

Seth Godin’s new book: The Dip. A “must read”!
This sounds like an excellent book for everybody! Ever had a job or project that “went wrong”? Ever found yourself in a situation that you just don’t want to be in, that is simply wasting your time, and asked yourself if you should stick to it or let it go?
If you answered no to the above then thanks for popping by…. (did you tell the truth?). Of course you didn’t answer no – everybody can have these situations!
I’m going to preorder this book today. Not only am I a big Seth Godin fan but I also think that this book should be on everybody’s bookshelf. Everybody owes it to themselves to be able to say “no, that’s not the right way and I’m letting that one go”. That’s something that makes the difference between moving on in life and getting stuck in a deadend. I’m not saying you should give up easily. Quite the opposite: I’m saying you should only devote your energies to what will help you achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself or your company. I’m interested to hear what Mr. Godin has to say on this matter.

The coolest car since…

Say what you want, there’s no denying that the Fiat 500 was one of the most “cult” cars of the last century. There are still many of them on the road now, lovingly restored and driven only in the summer months.
Well, that’s going to change soon: In only a few weeks Fiat will be rolling out their NEW Fiat 500. This car is simply cool, cool, cool!

The blog is online!
While the main Flash website is still in it’s early days, the blog is online. I’m going to be posting updates about the site status and also some links and other notes about things I’ve seen over the last few days – some really nice stuff. Pop by again and keep up to date with what’s happening!
